Great Fulford

Great Fulford is the beau ideal of a country house - a romantic ancient battlemented building constructed around a courtyard, it sits on a hill overlooking a lake and a rolling landscape dotted with veteran trees. The historic home of the Fulford family since the 12th century, the old walls contain a suite of state rooms which make it an ideal venue for the perfect wedding. The medieval Great Hall will seat up to a hundred for a wedding breakfast while the Great Parlour is ideally suited for dancing the night away and, for those guests who just want to chat and drink the Ante Room bar provides a refuge. Alternatively a marquee with seating for up to 250 can be erected on the lawn in front of the house and you can still use the house for a reception and dancing. There are 8 double ensuite bedrooms for those who wish to stay the night. The Civil Wedding ceremony itself is normally held in the impressive Ballroom which is approached by a grand 17th century staircase. However, there is the alternative of a garden wedding in the Gothic summerhouse in the walled flower garden should the weather be clement.
