Wakehurst Place is a beautiful 180 acre country estate and conservation area managed by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Within its magnificent grounds is the stunning Elizabethan Mansion, which is an ideal venue for stylish wedding ceremonies and receptions. A Grade 1 listed Heritage building, the Mansion was formerly owned by Lord Wakehurst and later the Price family, before being bequeathed to the National Trust and then later leased to Kew. Breathtaking views of the Gardens and West Sussex landscape from the Mansion Lawn provide a fabulous backdrop for photos or outdoor receptions, making your event a memorable occasion. As part of your venue hire you will have exclusive use of the Gallery, Hallway and the Dining Room. Both the Gallery and Dining Room can accommodate up to 60 guests each for dining and civil ceremonies. The rooms can also be opened up to be used as one large space for up to 120 guests for the wedding breakfast or evening reception. The Gallery opens onto a formal lawn, which will be sectioned off from the public, where guests can sip champagne on arrival or between your ceremony and wedding breakfast. Alternatively, the Hallway makes a warm and inviting drinks reception space during colder months.
